Medical Device Training for Healthcare Professionals
The National Association of Medical Device Educators and Trainers was established in 2011 in response to the requests of professionals working in this specialty, who had identified the need for a nationally recognised organisation, operating as a centre of expertise and excellence.
Hi Does anyone have any information on how they have implemented DERS into use in their hospital. We are looking at putting fluids and medication into the profile for general adult ward use. Has anyone had any difficulties, or do you have screen shots of the look of the DERS on screen that would assist us with establishing best practice with our devices and DERS? Thank you. apologies for not getting back sooner…. there is a lot of work done in Sheffield (Andy flood and team) and NAMDET is gathering data as we speak to see where the UK sits on the one. West Wales (Contact NAMDET member Steven Farrington )have just moved over to B.Braun devices and have all uploaded DERS too…. and BD/Carefusion have contacts too that have published papers on DERS for Paeds and Adults.
Robert Matthews (Wales regional Chair) is gathering the initial info so he might have more help too.
I am just implementing drug libraries under an adult or paediatric profile on our new Fresenius-Kabi syringe driver which will be available to staff via our equipment library. I have obviously had to include pharmacy who deal directly with the company to ensure the hard and soft limits (dose limits) are set correctly. The company send a spreadsheet with all required information to be populated and then configure the pumps with all this info via their laptop. The companies are hugely helpful with this type of thing. Our B Braun space and infusomat pumps also have DERS set up in this way.
