A NAMDET colleague is carrying out an MSc study into training methodologies for medial devices and hoping to carry out an in depth study and research project that will help shape the focus of training initiatives and training plans of the future.
Zainab Rizvi from St George’s Hospital in London introduces themselves below and is asking the following;
It would be appreciated if you could cascade this email to the appointed person(s) in your organisation who manages medical equipment user training.
My name is Zainab Rizvi, and I am a Trainee Clinical Scientist at St George’s Hospital. I am reaching out to you because of an MSc project that I am involved in. My research project is entitled ‘How can we objectively decide on the type of training that should be given for different medical equipment types?’. The objective is to explore the methodologies employed by healthcare organisations across the UK in establishing medical equipment training requirements.
To facilitate this research, I have prepared a questionnaire which includes a validation exercise for a risk assessment tool that is currently used at St George’s. Should you wish to take part in this questionnaire, your responses will form a crucial part of the data collection process, providing valuable insights into the current practices within your hospital. Your participation in this questionnaire is entirely voluntary and your responses will only be used for the purpose of this research. Upon the completion of this project, I will be delighted to share the results with you.
The questionnaire (linked below) has two sections and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. To enhance the depth of the study, some questions request relevant documentation (e.g. policies, training procedures and risk assessments) from your organisation to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. While your contribution would greatly support the study, please note that it is entirely voluntary and not obligatory.

If you would like to know more about my project or have any questions or concerns regarding the questionnaire, feel free to email me at email@example.com.
