NHS Improvement’s new patient safety review and response report has been published this morning and can be found via the following link
Through a series of case studies the report outlines specific examples between April and September last year of how they identified ‘new or under-recognised’ risks through their incident review process and the resulting action taken to support the NHS to prevent them. It’s a great way to showcase and highlight their work, including the less visible elements that go beyond Patient Safety Alerts.
First and foremost the report provides valuable feedback and encouragement to staff across the NHS by showing how incident reporting translates into national action to protect patients from harm.
