Our colleagues at NHS Improvement (Patient Safety) have today issued a new alert, support resources around the issue with Neuraxial connectors and devices in the NHS. Although issues for NHS organisations in England our colleagues in the devolved nations may need to be made aware and agree their own action based on the advice.
Namdet’s very own Paul Lee (who’s been seconded to the Patient Safety Team at NHSI) has been working with colleagues on this very important project and pleased to issue these resources to help during the transition of new NRFit devices for epidural, intrathecal and regional blocks in healthcare.
The alert and resources can be accessed via the following link
In addition, a training powerpoint (with audio track) will be launched in the next few days to further support medical device trainers, MDSOs and clinical colleagues to support the alert, and raise awareness about the withdrawal of Surety connectors for neuraxial use..
