Dear NAMDET colleagues,
After more than 40 years of dedicated service, Mary will be retiring from her role in Barts Health NHS Trust later this month.
She began her training here in 1984 and has made an enormous contribution over the years. One of her many achievements was playing a vital role in establishing the Equipment Library, creating a service that has benefited countless patients, colleagues, and teams across the Trust.
Throughout her career, she has also been instrumental in the development of medical device training, helping to raise standards of education and practice for healthcare professionals. Her work with the National Association of Medical Device Educators and Trainers (NAMDET) has extended her influence far beyond our Trust, making a lasting contribution to the profession at a national level.
Her dedication, expertise and passion for improving patient safety will leave a legacy that will continue to benefit healthcare organisations and patients for many years to come. She will be greatly missed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given to the Trust, her colleagues and the wider profession.
