Has any one else had reports of the Hillrom/ Braun Pro6000 tympanic thermometers of the probe ends over heating? We have had a small number, 5 or 6, of thermometers that have overheated, one with a recorded temperature in EBME Workshop of over 53 degree C, this is a patient safety concern. Unfortunately the fault drains the batteries very quickly and with new batteries in, the device resets and you cannot seem to replicate the fault. This has been reported via MHRA Yellowcard and direct to Hillrom but we are wondering if others have had this fault?
Thanks
