It is with great sadness that NAMDET wishes to share that David Cousins (The original architect of medication safety for the NPSA (National Patient Safety Agency) sadly passed away recently, and it’s very poignant that 2023 sees so much progress in what David started, both in DERS and medication safety. In 2020, David was awarded the lifetime achievement award from the Institute of Safe Medication Practice (ISMP) and you can watch a video and summary of all his achievements via the link below. His presence and courageousness in driving forward the medication safety agenda in the UK will be sorely missed.
A huge thank you once again to all of our invited speakers, and to the companies that have been involved with the DERS and SMART pump project from the very beginning, as the event could not have been such a success without your efforts.
